Security forces kill nine terrorists in separate operations across North Korea: ISPR

Terrorists were involved in numerous attacks against security forces and targeted killings of innocent civilians.

Security forces killed nine terrorists belonging to the Indian-sponsored proxy group Fitna al-Khawarij in two separate encounters in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the army’s media wing said in a statement.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan district on December 19 following reports of Khawarij’s presence.

“During the operation in Dera Ismail Khan district, our troops effectively attacked the Khawarij location, and after an intense exchange of fire, four Khawarij were neutralized,” the statement said.

ISPR further claimed that another intelligence-based operation was carried out in Bannu district where five more Khawarij were killed in a subsequent gunfight.

“Arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain Indian-sponsored Khawarij, who had been actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces, law enforcement agencies and in targeted killings of innocent civilians,” the statement added.

The ISPR also said that remediation operations are being carried out to remove any remaining Indian-sponsored Khawarij in the area, as part of a relentless anti-terror campaign under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” vision, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan.

“Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue at full pace to eradicate the menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” the statement concluded.
