At least three terrorists were killed when police and security forces repelled a terror attack at the Police Training College near Dera Ismail Khan on Friday. The banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan claimed responsibility for the attack.
According to police sources, between seven and eight armed assailants broke into the training center through the main door around 8:00 p.m., shooting indiscriminately and using rocket launchers and automatic weapons.
Police said armored vehicles, special units and Al-Buraq Force personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene. The district police officer confirmed that security forces managed to surround the attackers inside the complex.
Saddar police station SHO Aftab said three militants were killed during the operation, which lasted more than three hours. He added that a coordinated response involving police, security forces and the Al-Buraq Division eventually repelled the attack.

Residents in nearby areas reported hearing five loud explosions, with the first explosion so powerful that it shook surrounding buildings and spread panic through the neighborhood.
There were reports that six police officers were injured during the exchange of fire, although official confirmation was still awaited. Following the operation, the area was cordoned off and a search operation was launched to locate the remaining suspects.
Police officials said the incident occurred when former Prime Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur was reaching Dera Ismail Khan from Peshawar. The sound of explosions reportedly caused panic among members of his convoy.
