It’s usually the large, high-end lawn robots for palatial gardens that get the best features, and the cheaper compact robots can seem like an afterthought. But Segway Navimow has launched a new compact robotic lawnmower that it says will treat smaller gardens with the meticulous attention they deserve.
Of all the lawnbots I’ve seen at CES 2026, it’s the Segway Navimow i2 AWD that really stands out. It’s not the flashiest design (in fact, it’s the most affordable of the brand’s launches in 2026), but it has some clever features that allow you to create a perfectly manicured striped lawn, without risking damage.
This robotic lawnmower has all-wheel drive (hence AWD), which is very unusual for a compact robotic lawnmower. It only has two main wheels (as is common on compact lawnbots), so it won’t scale especially rocky terrain.
But what it does mean is that the wheels will not drag the grass when the robot is turning. This is especially relevant for the tight pivots you need to create stripes.
To complement the individually powered main wheels, the smaller stability wheel at the front of the lawnbot has also had some design tweaks. It also has a motor (again, unusual) and can rotate 180 degrees to guide the robot around tight turns with confidence and precision, and without even tearing up the grass. The brand calls all this ‘Xero-turn’ technology.
This lawn robot also has a clever way to maximize battery life. ‘Adaptive Drive’ means it will only use its third (front) wheel when necessary. This can extend battery life by up to 30%.
Other features
Segway Navimow has added built-in ESC, which automatically adjusts the lawn robot’s trajectory on slopes to maintain stability. There is also a traction control system (TCS) where the wheel torque will be dynamically adjusted to prevent slipping, which can also damage the grass.
Although it is not the most off-road capable option on the market, it can still handle relatively difficult terrain. There’s support for slopes up to 45% (24 degrees), it can handle steps and thresholds up to 1.6 inches high, and the Segway Navimow promises precise cutting on slippery or root-heavy terrain and even around stone paths.
The Navimow i2 AWD series is available in two variants: the i206 AWD (suitable for gardens up to 0.15 acres) and the i210 AWD (for up to 0.25 acres). The prices will be $999 and $1299 respectively.
