Selena Gomez just shared that she hopes to be a mother “someday” less than two weeks after her marriage to Benny Blanco.
The Emmy nominee revealed this wish while promoting the second season of the Wizards of Waverly Place sequel series, Wizards beyond Waverly Place.
Selena has starred in the Disney Channel original show, which aired from 2007 to 2012, as teenage witch Alex Russo.
Taking your Instagram story on who says The singer revealed that her character Alex is now a “mom” as she posted a video from the reboot’s season finale.
“Alex Russo is a mom,” she wrote, before adding, “hopefully one day it will be me.”
In the clip, viewers can see Selena sharing an emotional moment with her on-screen daughter, Billie, played by Janice LeAnn Brown.
Janice revealed that the opening table read for the season two finale, where Alex reveals to Billie that she is her mother, left her and Selena in tears.
“It was very emotional, especially for her and me after the table read,” Janice said, with Selena adding, “We were just puddles.”
Last year, Selena revealed for the first time vanity fair that she “cannot have” children for medical reasons.
“I’ve never said this,” Selena told the publication, “but unfortunately I can’t have my own children.”
“I have a lot of medical problems that would endanger my life and the baby’s life. That was something I had to grieve for a while,” she added.
Speaking about how she sees her path to motherhood, Selena mentioned, “It’s not necessarily the way I imagined it. I thought it would happen like it happens for everyone.”
“I’m in a much better place with that. I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are enormous possibilities for me,” she added.
“It made me feel so grateful for other outlets for people who are dying to be mothers. I’m one of those people. I’m excited about what that journey is going to be like, but it’s going to be a little different,” the singer-songwriter said.
“At the end of the day, I don’t care. It will be mine. It will be my baby,” Selena Gomez concluded.
