Selena Gomez is leaving fans in her love story with the now promised Benny Blanco, revealing how her connection grew from an informal acquaintance to something deeper and more durable.
In his recent appearance in Jake Shane’s podcast Therapyhe The same love of always Hit Maker shared how he met Blanco: “We met when I was 16 because we were possibly going to work together, but I did not start throwing music until 17/18 officially and so we saw each other around,” Gomez recalled. “I was an acquaintance, if that makes sense. I just thought it was pleasant.”
Gomez also revealed that at that time, the romance was not in her mind, she “only thought it was fun.”
“But I didn’t think any of that … You must be where you are, it’s about time. Even if I thought, ‘Oh, I need to take a step forward’, then it would not have worked. You must be mentally there to advance with something healthy,” he added.
However, his paths crossed again while working on his song Single soonthat unexpectedly played a role in the revival of his connection.
“It wasn’t our favorite,” he laughed. “Just because I can say this because I’m marrying him, it really wasn’t what I thought I wanted.”
But an informal conversation changed everything: “I asked him to connect to anyone who knew he was cute, and he said: ‘Oh, we make these dinner nights. You should come,” Gomez said. “The next thing you know is that we are dating.”
