Senate elections: the PPP delegation meets Fazl

Islamabad:

A PPP delegation met Friday with Jui-F chief, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, in his residence in Islamabad to discuss the next Senate elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

The PPP delegation included the governor of KP Faisal Karim Kundi, Khurshid Shah and Zahir Shah. JUI-F leaders: Akram Khan Durrani, Maulana Lutfur Rehman, Maulana Asad Mehmood, Zahid Durrani and Asjad Mehmood, also attended the meeting.

According to a Jui-F spokesman, the meeting focused on a consultation with respect to the Senate elections in the KP. In statements to the media after the meeting, Khurshid Shah said that the Senate elections are approaching and that the issues previously agreed will be honored.

“Each part has its mandate. We have a relationship with Mulana, that’s why we came,” he added.

Governor Kundi said his goal is to obtain five seats in the KP Senate.

“Maulana will get a general seat, and the PPP will get a reserved seat. If even a member exceeds the expected count, you can start a vote of trust,” he added. When a journalist asked if the horses trade would be carried out again, Kundi said the PPP is trying to avoid any horse negotiation.

When asked if the parties would play elections as an alliance as they had played the previous elections of the Senate under the PDM, the governor of KP said that this was what they were trying to do. “We are trying to enter the elections together,” he added.

When commenting on the safety situation in the KP, he said after the extremist government of the night came out. He condemned the tragic murder of workers in Baluchistan on Thursday and said that the entire nation must unite to bring peace.

“India is behind the acts of terror in Baluchistan. After facing defeat militarily, India is intensifying terrorism. The floor of Afghanistan should not be used by Israel and India. If our neighbor allows their land to be used by them, how can we have better relationships?” He added.
