Islamabad:

The Senate elections for 11 seats, including seven general seats, two reserved for women and two for technocrats/ulema, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa are scheduled for July 21 in the building of the Provincial Assembly.

The ECP also announced the schedule for the partial elections of the Senate due to the approval of Professor Sajid Mir and others unemployed by Sania Nishtar with the surveys that will be held on July 21 and July 31, respectively.

A spokesman for the electoral commission declared on Friday that the commission had postponed the elections on April 2, 2024, due to an incomplete electoral university, as a result of the lack of oath of the speaker to the members chosen in seats reserved in the Provincial Assembly.

In addition, the Electoral Commission has announced the schedule to fill two vacancies of women reserved of the Pakistan-Nawaz Muslim League (PML-N) in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa National Assembly. These seats were restored after the verdict of the Supreme Court on the reserved representation.

Nomination documents can be sent on July 9 and 10.

The scrutiny of the nomination documents will be held on July 14, and the final list of candidates will be published on July 24, 2025.

The PML-N priorities list has been exhausted, and must send a new list of priorities to the officer returning before July 10, according to a press release.
