The NFL could soon launch a professional female flag soccer league.
The new league would probably aim to support the long -term growth of sport, and could also be supported by some high profile investors. The Serena Williams tennis icon and her husband and technological businessman Alexis Ohanian, through her investment firm 776, are in conversations with the NFL about the company, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing Fuentes.

According to reports, the NFL weighs at least 10 proposals, including Tko Group Holdings, former Milwaukee Bucks Marc Lasry’s Avenue Capital Group and its ICE ICE Cube partners and Jeff Kwatinetz.
Tko is a conglomerate created by Endeavor, which resulted from the 2023 fusion between WWE and UFC.

The media company backed by Michael Strahan Smac Entertainment, as well as Connect Ventures, has also presented releases to the league, according to Bloomberg. Connect Ventures was formed through an association between the talent and the Agency of Creative Artists of the Sports Agency (CAA) and the risk firm New Enterprise Associates.

The NFL has long supported the growth and impulse of flag football, particularly youth participation in sport. The NFL flag initiative of the League has provided funds for the sport for several years.
Flag Football is expected to appear at the 2028 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles. However, it is not clear if NFL active players will be able to participate in the games.

“It is clear that there is a lot of interest in a professional league,” said Goodell during a press conference. Goodell also confirmed that the League has received proposals from possible investors.
Goodell also discussed the PRO Flag football during the February Super Bowl in New Orleans.
None of the possible stakeholders immediately responded to the request for comments from Pak Gazette Digital. Information about the amount required for an investment in the new potential league was not made available.

There are 14 US states that have sanctioned women’s flag football at the high school level, which makes it a university sport. A limited number of universities has official women’s flag soccer teams.
