The NFL could soon launch a professional female flag soccer league.

The new league would probably aim to support the long -term growth of sport, and could also be supported by some high profile investors. The Serena Williams tennis icon and her husband and technological businessman Alexis Ohanian, through her investment firm 776, are in conversations with the NFL about the company, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing Fuentes.

According to reports, the NFL weighs at least 10 proposals, including Tko Group Holdings, former Milwaukee Bucks Marc Lasry’s Avenue Capital Group and its ICE ICE Cube partners and Jeff Kwatinetz.

Tko is a conglomerate created by Endeavor, which resulted from the 2023 fusion between WWE and UFC.

The media company backed by Michael Strahan Smac Entertainment, as well as Connect Ventures, has also presented releases to the league, according to Bloomberg.
