Augusta also receives past green jacket winners.

2017 winner Sergio García smashed his driver after venting his anger on the second tee of the legendary golf course.

Along with fellow Spaniard and 2023 winner Jon Rahm, Garcia slammed his club into the grass twice after hitting a shot that ended up in the bunker. Then he slammed a table with a green cooler on it.

That left his driver’s head hanging off the axle, and he reached out and tore it off completely. Garcia eventually received a warning about the code of conduct.

Garcia started the day out of contention and then bogeyed the first hole, so his anger is understandable.

Later on that second hole, things got comical when Garcia began carrying Rahm’s bag while Rahm’s caddy tended to the bunker. The crowd applauded when Rahm took the bag from Garcia and began carrying it himself as caddy Adam Hayes hurried to catch up to the players.

García was disqualified in 2019 at the Saudi International for damaging the greens as a sign of frustration. This time he managed to control himself before reaching that point, although he finally received the warning.

According to club officials, Geoff Yang, in his role as competition committee chairman, spoke to Garcia on the fourth tee and issued him the code of conduct warning.
