Rafael Devers had a tense spring training.
During the exhibition period, the manager of the Red Sox Alex Cora and Devers seemed to disagree on whether it would spend time in the baseball diamond that covers the third base.
Shortly before the opening day, Cora confirmed that Devers would handle the designated batter tasks of the full -time team. However, when Boston’s main main base, Triston Casas, suffered a serious injury, caused another proposal of the brass of the red socks.

During his public refutation of the possible position change, Devers cited the previous instructions of the red socks related to him using his glove.
