The former Pakistan captain, Shahid Afidi, has paid tribute to Virat Kohli after the retirement of the Bateo icon of the Indian of the Test Cricket, welcoming his contribution to the longest format of the game.
Aphridi wrote: “Congratulations on a remarkable career @imvkohli. His passion, intensity and professionalism established new standards in the trial cricket.”
“The purist format will miss its competitive presence and spirit,” he added.

Aphridi’s message came in response to Kohli’s announcement to get away from the test cryket. The 36 -year -old Indian batter, who debuted in 2011, ends his career in the red ball with 9,230 races and 30 centuries in 123 games, averaging 46.85.
Kohli confirmed the decision through Instagram, calling Crickt test a format that tasted it and molded it. “It’s not easy, but it feels good,” he wrote. “There is something deeply personal in playing in whites. The quiet routine, the long days, the little moments that no one sees but remains with you forever.”
The final test of the unconditional Indian was against Australia in January, marking the end of a brilliant race in which it also became the most successful test captain of India.
Kohli led his team in 68 games, won 40, lost only 17 and took the team to the world championships worldwide 2021 and 2023.
The next task of proof of India is a series of five games against England as of June 20.
