
Shailene Woodley has revealed why a “grace period” is crucial for adopted animals.
The 33 -year -old American actress spoke with PEOPLE Magazine during the weekend of global adoption of Mars to raise awareness about the adoption of pets.
Woodley shared that the “grace period” is important for pet animals, while finding a home forever for them, since they give them time to acclimatize to a new environment.
She said: “When you bring an animal home, it does not assume that it will be immediately symbiotic: things take time, relationships take confidence and patience. It is in the same way for animals and humans.”

Woodley explained: “Any person in a healthy long -term relationship knows that patience, understanding and grace are necessary, and bringing home a refuge animal, there must also be a period of grace, of being patient and understanding that this animal comes with its own history set and your own life that you lived before you, and you come with your own history and life that you have lived before.
“That establishment of trust, to be slow with the process of gaining its trust and giving its confidence, I think it establishes a relationship that will only be productive and comforting for all parties involved,” the Adrift The actress, who has been a zophilist, said.
