Shama Junejo Row fans shoot in Parliament

Islamabad:

The row about the alleged inclusion of the June columnist in an official delegation became a storm in Parliament on Friday, with opposition members in the National Assembly accusing the government of avoiding consultations on Palestine and criticizing the management of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of the Gaza question.

Vice -Prime Minister Ishaq gave his hands of responsibility when the members of the opposition, led by the former president of Na Asad Qaiser, sharpened his knives on the management of Palestine by the Government.

Speaking in Parliament, Ishaq Dar declared categorically that he had not signed any letter containing the name of Shama Junjo.

“The name of Shama Junjo was not in the letter I wrote. His name was not included in the official delegation letter. The name was mentioned by the writers of speeches and other personnel, but not in the list with my signature,” Dar said.

Meanwhile, the former president of NA, Asad Qaiser, criticized the government for not consulting the Parliament on delicate matters, particularly related to Palestine. “This Parliament must be consulted, but it seems that even their own people are not confident,” he added.

He accused the government of sending contradictory messages, saying: “Khawaja Asif says one thing while another ministry says something else. He faced shame.”

Qaiser questioned how “a woman was sent to such a forum” and said that her statements had raised doubts.

He condemned Israeli atrocities in Gaza, noting that “more than 60,000 have been martyred, and the infrastructure has been destroyed. Brutality is beyond imagination.”

He regretted the silence of Muslim leaders, asking: “Even eight chiefs of tweeted Islamic states?” He claimed that not acting decisively, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had “inclined the heads of the Pakistani of shame” and “hurt the emotions of the nation with a single tweet.”

“No agreement is acceptable without the consent of the Palestinians,” he said, emphasizing that history had never witnessed such tyranny and that “Israel will never be recognized.”
