Sixteen people died and nine were injured in a fire of Dubai residential building in April 2023. The fire involved the five-story building in the Al-Ras neighborhood, one of the oldest parts of Dubai and the home of many workers and migrant merchants, according to the National Newspaper based in Abu Dhabi.
Sharjah is one of the seven emirates that make up the EAU, where several compounds and residential hotels have been beaten by fire in recent years.
In some of those cases, experts said the flames may have been encouraged to spread through the outer coating.
