Trump led Truth Social to express his frustration with the former Colorado star who was not selected before the second round began.
“What happens to the owners of the NFL, are stupid? Deion Sanders was a great university soccer player, and was even greater in the NFL. He is also a very good coach, streetwise and intelligent! Therefore, Shedeur, his son of Marshal, has phenomenal genes and is all ready,” Trump wrote.

The Cleveland Browns selected Sanders with the general selection 144 in the fifth round, and Sanders will compete for the work of Marshal of the Titular Field.
Sanders is one of the five Quarterbacks on the list, and the team does not have a clear holder. Deshaun Watson broke an Achilles tendon in January for the second time after surgery under the same tendon in October 2024. His status for the next season is in doubt.
