Senator Shibli Faraz of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) said he had no knowledge of any directive issued by the founding president of the Imran Khan party to assign a task for negotiations with the establishment.

Speaking to the journalists of the Superior Court of Islamabad on Thursday, Faraz said: “I have not met the founder of PTI for six months. Despite judicial orders, we are not allowed to meet him,” said Express News.

He added: “Until I hear it directly from him, I can’t comment on any speculation.”

Their comments arrive in the midst of contradictory reports after a meeting reported between Imran Khan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Prime Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, and information advisor Barrister Saif in Adiala Jail earlier this week.

According to the sources, the two attendees convinced Khan to accept the conversations with the establishment and had the task of starting contacts with a back channel.

However, the information from the central secretary of PTI, Sheikh Waqas Akram, denied that said directive has been issued.

Faraz’s comments echo this position. He emphasized the need to respect judicial decisions, noting that the Superintendent of Adials prison allegedly ignored the decisions of three different judges.

Meanwhile, answering a question about the resignation of the leader of PTI Senior Hamad Azhar of his game, Faraz expressed repentance, qualifying Azhar “an educated leader” and fired the talk of internal groups within the game, clarifying that Azhar did not leave PTI.

“There is no disagreement with the founder’s personality or decisions,” he said.

“Each province has its own political context and realities,” he added, suggesting that internal affairs should not invite the interference of other regions.

Previously, Shibli Faraz declared that his party will continue his political struggle on judicial appointments and hinted at the formation of a new alliance between opposition parties.

Speaking to the media outside the Superior Court of Peshawar on Tuesday, Faraz declared that a country cannot function without justice. “When there is no justice, the public loses faith in court,” he said.

He criticized the current judicial appointment process, claiming that it is evident that the judges are being designated based on favoritism.

“The way in which the judges are being appointed clearly indicates that their loyalty meets those in power,” he added.

In addition, he declared that if the institutions responsible for delivering justice weaken, the public feels insecure and, under such conditions, national progress and prosperity cannot be achieved.

Faraz also reaffirmed that PTI would continue his political struggle on the issue of judicial appointments, and that an opposition alliance would soon be formed. “Without justice, a country cannot advance,” he concluded.
