Rawalpindi:

A violent altercation between public transport staff and the National Roads and Highway Police (NHMP) at 26 years has emerged, with video images of uniformed officers who “assault” the members of the bus crew that become viral.

In response, the highway police accused the transport staff of attacking an officer, damaging a tablet issued by the Government and tear their uniform.

According to the sources, NHMP personnel were managing the congestion of heavy traffic to 26 Chungi number when an argument broke out and a passenger bus crew.

The situation quickly became a physical confrontation, captured in video.

The footage shows four uniformed NHMP officers physically assaulting a bus staff member.

An officer is seen wielding a cane and hitting the transport worker, while another individual with civil clothing is also being pushed to the bus crew member.

NHMP officials declared that the transport personnel attacked Inspector Noor Faraz, defeated it, destroyed a tablet issued by the government and broke their uniform.

In response, additional police personnel were deployed to control the situation, and a legal complaint was filed against the defendants at the Tarnol Police Station.

After the incident, the additional inspector (AIG) of the northern region took an immediate notice and formed a research committee under the leadership of the North-1 SP Jawad Shah sector.

The authorities have promised an exhaustive investigation to guarantee justice and discover all aspects of the incident.
