After Shogun With surprising success, its creators have said that work on the second season has progressed at full speed.
Initially scheduled as a limited series, the historical drama was renewed for two seasons.
“Well, this continues,” said executive producer and creator Rachel Kondo. “We are still trying. We have not given up. And I’m not sure what we can say.”
Its co-creator Justin Marks said: “We’re about six weeks away from the end of the writers’ room.”
In a previous interview with The Hollywood Reporter Justin said: “Season three is really a finale. We know where it starts, we know where it ends and we know who is there on that journey.”
“Right now we’re focusing on the second part to make sure we can get to that point,” the creator noted.
In other news, Anna Sawai, who played Toda Mariko, won the Golden Globe award for her performance in shogun.
In her acceptance speech, the actress praised the writers, saying, “Thank you to our incredible writers. Without a good script, it’s impossible to deliver a performance to our full potential. Thank you. To everyone else, I’m going to thank you.” later.”
