Shohei Ohtani will return to the mound on Monday night when Los Angeles Dodgers face San Diego’s parents in what will be their first launch appearance since August 23, 2023.
The Dodgers made the announcement of Ohtani’s return to Bow on Sunday night in the 5-4 victory of the team over the San Francisco giants. Ohtani has not launched since he was a member of Los Angeles Angels. He had an elbow procedure between 21 months that was held from the pitcher’s mound.

It will probably be used as the Dodgers starter.
“Shohei is getting anxious, which is something good for us,” said the Dodgers manager, Dave Roberts, before the team announced that Ohtani was going to live up to it.
“I don’t know if it will be one or two entries, but I suppose it is probably an entry to start. But it is a good thing. The living, simulated or whatever, its course ran. You are ready to debut in the mound.”
Ohtani was expected to return to the pitcher’s mound at some point when he signed a 10 -year contract and $ 700 million with Los Angeles before the 2024 season. It was only a matter of time, and the Dodgers had no qualms about the slowness of their efforts to launch again.

Bullpen sessions began on March 29 and launched batting on May 25.
“There has been a lot of anticipation,” Roberts said. “I think we have done it in the right way about our process, communicating with Shohei and feeling good … it is good for our team. Our boys are excited about this potential. And obviously, most importantly, I am excited by Shohei.”
Ohtani is one of the rare players in the sport he can throw and hit.
He has made 86 appearances as a pitcher and struck out 608 batters with an effectiveness of 3.01. He only launched for the angels of Los Angeles in MLB.
Los Angeles are dealing with a series of injuries in their rotation. Roki Sasaki is ready to be left in the long term with the right impact on the shoulder, Blake Snell lacks time due to inflammation of the left shoulder and Tyler Glasnow is dealing with the inflammation of the right shoulder.

Ohtani will be called to give some relief to the Dodgers in that area, at least for now.
