- Shopify announced more than 150 changes in its platform
- Many of the changes are fed by AI
- Now you can use AI to generate site songs and edit blocks
Shopify, one of the best website builders, has just announced the Summer ’25 edition, a collection of major, minor and medium updates on its platform. The company promises easier and more efficient operations, better shopping experiences and more store customization as a result.
With the launch of Horizons, Shopify’s New Design Foundation, the themes take the center of the stage. This includes the incorporation of 10 new store templates and a block editor with AI to help them do their own. Alternatively, you can use the new AI store builder to create a topic from a simple description of its brand, although it can only generate up to 3 personalized topics for free.
The wizard of the Electronic Commerce Platform, Sidekick, has seen a significant update to offer improved reasoning skills. According to Shopify, users can ask things like “Why did sales decreased last month?” and obtain thorough analysis with data from inventory levels, marketing campaigns and seasonal trends.
Sidekick now also admits 20 languages, the voice can be controlled and can be used to generate images.
‘Multiplier of human ambition’
Other updates include the launch of AI purchasing agents (which connect products to conversation platforms such as perplexity), Shopify Checkout in Roblox (allowing their customers to consult physical products in the digital world of Roblox) and the Shopify Knowledge Base application, which automatically generates frequent questions with legible AI-AI based on the policies and environments of the store.
Shopify has also introduced Storefront MCP, a feature that allows developers to build AI agents who can make recommendations of products based on the intention of a buyer. You can answer questions, create cars and guide buyers for payment.
“In Shopify, we believe that AI is a great multiplier of human ambition, amplifying what is possible when businessmen dream big,” the company said in its blog post. “That is why we are weaving tools of the powerful and intuitive in each part of our platform, so that building your business feels as natural as chatting about your dreams about coffee.”
As part of Shopify biannual updates, there are more than 150 changes in the platform. So, if he is a Shopify user, we recommend reading everything here to discover how updates can help him.
