A police officer was shot dead by assailants not identified in the city of Orangi de Karachi, near Aman Chowk of Khairabad, said Express News.

The officer, identified as Imran, 40, was seriously injured in the attack and succumbed to his wounds while transported to the hospital.

According to the reports of the Chhipa authorities, the officer was in uniform and service in the area of ​​the manghopir police station at the time of the attack.

The initial investigations suggest that three unknown assailants persecuted and shot the officer.

SSP West spokesman confirmed that the police have recovered seven bullet shells from the crime scene, and more investigations are being carried out.

The governor of Sindh, Kamran Tessori, had previously requested an urgent action to address street crimes and public safety, urging quick responses such as the arrest of AFAQ Ahmed. In a meeting with Federal Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Tessori also discussed the security, application of the law and the promotion of Cricket, praising the renewal of the National Stadium.

Meanwhile, the president of MQM, AFAQ Ahmed, along with another 10, was sent in judicial custody by charges related to inciting violence, including burning an oil tanker in Landhi.

The prosecutor argued that it was an act of terrorism, while the defense attributed it to public frustration on the issue of life that is demanded by the accelerator dumpers in the city.

Later, the court had rejected the return request and sent Ahmed to jail.
