- Gaming accessory brand CRKD just introduced a new controller
- The CRKD Ult Pro is compatible with Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 and is packed with high-end features.
- Despite offering more, it is cheaper than the official Nintendo Switch 2 Pro controller
Gaming accessory maker CRKD, the company behind the award-winning Nitro Deck (which we consider the best Nintendo Switch accessory), just announced the “ultimate” Nintendo Switch 2 controller, and I’d be seriously worried if I were Nintendo.
Designed to take control “to the highest level”, the new CRKD Ult Pro is all about customization. It has six remappable inputs, adjustable trigger travel, interchangeable components and a set of configuration options, which are available through the CRKD Companion app.
Ult Pro allows you to remap any button and store their bindings in profile presets right on the controller. You can also instantly switch between different trigger settings thanks to a unique trigger toggle system.

As you’d expect from CRKD, the Ult Pro has long-lasting Hall Effect trigger sensors in addition to drift-resistant TMR joysticks, premium components that Nintendo opted not to include. There is also support for motion and vibration control.
In addition to Nintendo Switch 2, it is compatible with original Nintendo Switch and PC via the included 2.4 GHz wireless adapter. PC gamers can enable an incredibly fast 1000Hz polling rate if they also connect with a cable, which could make a real difference for fans of edgy competitive titles.
All of these features seem like a big improvement over Nintendo’s official Nintendo Switch 2 Pro controller. Despite that, the Ult Pro is somehow cheaper than the official pad, costing just $69.99/£64.99, below Nintendo’s $84.99/£74.99 offer.
If that wasn’t enough, the Ult Pro even comes with its own charging dock, which also serves as a stylish way to display the pad when not in use.
It’s expected to ship in June, but three different versions can be pre-ordered today through CRKD’s website. There’s a Smoke Black edition and a retro Pal Gray edition with Switch button markings, and a Smoke Black edition with markings designed for PC.
Will the Ult Pro become the new definitive Nintendo Switch 2 controller? It remains to be seen, but if there’s one company that can pull it off, it’s CRKD.
