The Sindh government has declared a holiday throughout the province from March 31 to April 2, 2025, for EID Ul Fitr, according to a notification issued by the Provincial Administration.
According to the communication signed by Chief Secretary Asif Haider Shah, all public and semigubernamental offices will remain closed from Monday to Wednesday.
Previously, the Federal Government also announced a three -day holiday for EID, and the Cabinet division confirmed the holidays from March 31 to April 2.
The Central Committee of Ruet-E-Hilal, together with the Zonal Committees, will meet on Sunday night, March 30, 2025 (corresponding to Ramazan 29, 1446 AH), to see the Shawwal moon, marking the potential end of the Sacred Month of Ramadan.

The Moon Vision Committee meeting will be held at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and interreligious harmony.
Religious academics, meteorological experts and other interested parties deliberate in the moon sighting reports throughout the country during the session to determine the date of EID Ul Fitr celebrations throughout Pakistan.
The beginning of the ninth and most sacred month in the Muslim calendar, as well as the Eid holidays and the month of mourning of Muharram, is determined by the sighting of the new moon.
In February, the Space Research Commission and the upper atmosphere of Pakistan (Supparco) predicted the visibility of Ramadán and Shawwal increasing using scientific evaluations, astronomical calculations and modern observation data.
According to astronomical models, Shawwal’s moon will be visible on March 30, indicating that Eid Ul Fitr will probably fall into Pakistan on March 31, 2025.
Since the observation without the help of the growing moon is a religious obligation to determine the beginning of the Holy Month, the Committee will examine testimonies from all over the country and formally announce this year’s official Shawwal beginning.
