Sindh announces winter holidays for schools from December 22 to 31


The Steering Committee of Sindh Education Department announced on Thursday that all public and private educational institutions in the province will remain closed from December 22 to 31 during this year’s winter holidays.

The spokesperson added that schools will reopen as normal on January 1, 2026, while supplementary examinations conducted by education boards will continue as planned over the holiday period.

Earlier, the Punjab School Education Department officially confirmed the winter vacation schedule in all public and private schools in the province. The announcement came following the directives of Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat.

In a formal notification, the department revealed that winter vacation would begin from December 22, 2025 and would be extended till January 10, 2026. During this period, all schools remained closed due to annual winter vacation.

“The schedule was finalized keeping in mind the weather patterns and convenience of students and parents,” Hayat said. The break was intended to give students relief from the expected harsh winter conditions.

As per the notification, academic activities across Punjab would resume from January 12, 2026. The department directed all school administrations to ensure full compliance with the holiday schedule issued, ensuring a smooth transition when schools reopen.
