The SNDH government has extended the deadline to replace old vehicle registration books with new smart cards with security until May 15, 2025.
The decision was announced by Sindh Minister for the control of special taxes, taxes and narcotics, Mikesh Kumar Chawla, who approved the extension to facilitate the public, said Express News.
The Department of Control of Special Taxes, Taxes and Narcotics has issued a formal notification.
Previously, the deadline to change to smart registration cards was established for April 3, 2025.
The authorities have urged vehicle owners throughout the province to take advantage of the extension and update their old documents before the new cutting date.
The new smart cards are equipped with improved safety features aimed at stopping forgery and guaranteeing the maintenance of digital records.
