Protesters have urged the provincial government to increase salaries of all permanent personnel from grade 1 to 22 by 70%, guarantee timely guidelines for group insurance and benevolent fund, and categorically rule out any deduction of pensions.
The leaders of the Great Health Alliance, which includes the Medical Association of Pakistan, the Association of Doctors of Young, the Association of Nurses of Nurses, the Association of Allied Health Professionals, SENDH, the paramedic staff of Sindh, the young paramedics and the alliance of employees of SENDH, said that the strike will affect all the OPDs and administrative offices, with only emergency services to remain operational.
The decision was taken during a GHA meeting at the Karachi Civil Hospital, which was attended by several high -level figures, including the president of the Sindh employee alliance, Haji Muhammad Ashraf Khaskheli.
The union leaders emphasized that the boycott was not a political movement, but an attempt to ensure long data rights for government health workers. “This action has been taken for the approval of legitimate demands,” they said, warning that the closure would continue until the government takes “concrete and positive steps.”
They also averaged that the employees of the government hospitals of Sindh joined on a single platform and would not hesitate to make sacrifices for their rights.
