The Sindh government has declared a holiday on December 27 to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

The government issued a notification stating that all government and semi-government offices in the province will remain closed on the day, Express News reported.

However, despite the holiday, banks will remain open to the public.

Pakistan People’s Party has decided to hold a large public rally on December 27 at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, on the 17th death anniversary of martyred PPP leader and former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

PPP Sindh President Nisar Ahmed Khuhro said that a rally will be held at the shrine of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto on her 17th death anniversary.

Party leaders from the four provinces as well as President Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and President Asif Ali Zardari will address the rally.

Earlier, the Sindh government declared December 25 as a public holiday to celebrate the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

The provincial government also declared December 26 as a holiday for Christian employees to celebrate Christmas, and official notifications were issued for both holidays.
