Islamabad: The president of the Peoples Party of Pakistan (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, expressed on Tuesday the deep concerns of Sindh about the construction of new channels of the Indo River, emphasizing that the problem must be resolved through consensus and the matter is reviewed by the Common Interests Council (CCI) ,,,. The news reported.
In statements to the media at the House of Parliament, Bilawal said that President Asif Ali Zardari had highlighted the unilateral policies of the government without consensus, particularly the decision to make new channels of the Indo.
“President Zardari shed light on the issue before the National Assembly and the current government. The government is under tension due to the problem, and should be reviewed and resolved, ”he said.
Bilawal said there is no reason for the government not to accept suggestions. “The government would not want their projects to become controversial or damage to the federal units in any way,” he said.
The PPP, he said, has been the first part to raise his voice against issues that invade the rights of the provinces. “Even in his last speech before the Assembly, the late Nawaz Yousuf Talpur raised the water problem, and also other members of the PPP,” he said, adding that Sindh’s prime minister, Murad Ali Shah, his ministers and the provincial bureaucracy also raised the problem in each forum.
For a question, President Bilawal said that the Common Interests Council is the right forum to address the issue of water distribution and that the PPP has constantly demanded a CCI meeting to convene. He said that some politicians who belong to certain factions are exploiting this national issue to promote their policy and attack the only party that always fights for parity.
‘Relief for our farmers’
In addition, he said that as for the green project of Pakistan and obtaining investments for agriculture, the PPP not only possesses it, but is the real philosophy of the party. “We not only want relief for our farmers, but we also want them to flourish,” he said.
To maximize the results of the first phase, Bilawal said that the Punjab and Sindh areas that contribute to the agricultural economy must be prioritized. “Little landowners should receive the power of collective bargaining when they work together,” he said.
The president said that provincial governments must use the public-private association model to introduce intelligent irrigation funded by the federal government, which makes collective agriculture a revolutionary movement. He said that the PPP is working on pilot projects throughout Sindh, including Bio Salina Agriculture experiments in Thar.
Bilawal said he hopes that the prime minister honor the basic points agreed with the PPP as part of his political understanding. “The prime minister instructed his team to address our complaints,” he said.
He said the PPP is the third largest force in the National Assembly. “Our confidence level has not yet reached the stage in which the PPP can become a government coalition partner,” said the president of the PPP.
Formula of ‘Mid -term Prime Minister’
He said that the PPP has always rejected the formula of the “medium -term prime minister.” “Our relations with the government and political position are facing all,” he said. The PPP is currently working with the political party that promised him for the good of the country.
Regarding Ifar’s dinner with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Bilawal said he is grateful for organizing the PPP delegation. He said that inflation was the most important issue, on which the parties challenged the elections, and now that the economic indicators are improving, the PPP joins the rest of the country to congratulate Prime Minister Sharif.
He also said that the PPP also raised his concerns about the deterioration of the situation of the law and order in Baluchistan and KP. “From parachute to Bannu and Peshawar, including all tribal areas, the fire of terrorism continues to spread,” he said.
Referring to the KP government, he said that “he has never witnessed such a” disinterest “by a provincial government when it comes to problems related to his own electorate.”
Bilawal said he has asked the Prime Minister to press the provincial government to resolve this. “It is also the responsibility of the Federation to take care of these problems, since they cannot abandon KP to the whims of the current provincial regime,” he said. He also said that addressing the situation of the law and order is a collective responsibility.
In Baluchistan, President PPP said that not only law and order is a pressing problem, but climate change is also sinking its claws in the province and that restoration work for devastation caused by floods must be issued.
When describing the president’s speech to Parliament as “historical,” he said that this is the first time in the history of Pakistan that a civil president went to Parliament for the eighth time. He said that the stay of President Zardari and the focus on people’s issues, as well as advocate for consensus -based reforms, was a reflection of people’s expectations.
“From the economy to terrorism, as well as agriculture and technology, the president’s direction touched all the vital problems facing the country. The president, as a symbol of the Federation, is the only representative of all the elected members of Parliament, as well as the provincial assemblies. “
The president of the PPP said it is the responsibility of the media to spread the truth only. “Opposition propaganda should not be repeated,” he said. Regarding the next budget, President PPP said that he hopes that the PPP and the PMLN, according to his agreement, to write it collectively together with PSDP for the four provinces.
