At least six people were killed and another 38, including women and children, injured when a passenger bus immersed himself in a throat near Chakri Interchange on the M -2 highway. According to reports, the accident was caused by speeding on slippery roads in the middle of the rainy weather.
According to the details, a passenger bus that transported 43 passengers headed to fine from Rawalpindi; However, when he was close to Chakri’s exchange on the M-2 highway, the driver lost control of the vehicle due to Slippery Road and the bus challenge fell into a ravine.
Five people died on the spot, while another 38 were injured and moved to the hospital. Later, one of the injured women succumbed to their wounds. Among the injured are women, children and the elderly. It is said that the condition of six injured is critical.
Upon receiving information, the highway police, the 1122 rescue and other help agencies rushed to the scene, provided first aid to the injured and transferred them to the hospitals.
Some injured passengers stated that the driver was accelerating despite the conditions of the slippery road, which led to the tragic accident.
A passenger woman said the bus was overcrowded and moving at high speed, which caused the accident.
According to Rescue 1122 and the highway police officers, five passengers died in the place and 38 were injured in the accident. Among the injured, 23 were transferred to the Hospital of the District headquarters, Chakwal, from 8 to Pims and 7 to the Hospital of the District Headquarters, Rawalpindi, while four bodies moved to the Hospital of the District headquarters, Rawalpindi and one to the Hospital of the District headquarters, Chakwal. Later, one of the wounded women, namely, Irum Batool, succumbed to their wounds in the hospital, taking the number of dead to six.
The dead are identified as Erum Batool, Zafar Iqbal de Vihari, Samina Nasir by Mian Chunnu, Murag Faheem by Wah Cantt, Christmas Nahid de Pir Mahal and Ashraf.
