Sky overcomes Lynx behind Angel Reese, the doubles of Kamilla Cardoso

Upon Saturday, Minnesota Lynx had lost only three times, but they lost their fourth game on Saturday afternoon.

Chicago Sky teammates, Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso, published a double double when Chicago bothered Minnesota 87-81.

Reese ended the day with 19 points and 11 rebounds for its eighth consecutive double. Now he has 14 double doubles this season. Cardoso, the center of heaven, ended with 17 points and the best 15 rebounds of his career.

Rachel Banham knocked three triples and ended with 12 points for heaven. Courtney Williams connected two free throws to trim the Minnesota deficit to 75-73 before Cardoso made a couple of free throws and Lynx coach, Cheryl Reeve, was called for a technical foul.

Banham gave the next free kick, and Michaela Onyenwere added a pull-up sweater along the baseline to put 80-73 with five remaining minutes in the game.

Collier hit a triple that did 82-79 with less than three minutes remaining in the regulation, but Atkins responded with a Pull-Up sweater, and the Lynx did not approach.

The sky entered Saturday’s game with a 1-10 record this season against .500 or better teams. The victory over Minnesota marked only the second time this year, Chicago registered consecutive victories.

Naphesa Collier had 26 points, eight rebounds, five assists, three robberies and three blockages for Lynx. Kayla McBride added 17 points, and Williams scored 13.

Collier lost the first of two free throws at the end of the third quarter to break his franchise record of 54 consecutive facts made free shots.

Minnesota has lost two of three for the first time this season. Lynx will not have to wait long for the redemption opportunity. Lynx plays heaven again on Monday.
