Refresh
I am still caught in the login limbo with the clearance on the desk, and this seems consistent with what Slack has reported on its state page. As such, it would seem that problems will persist for some people, while others seem to have had fully functional access.
Here is a new Slack update:
“We identify the cause of the problem and continue monitoring our health metrics, but we are not yet completely resolved. Some users can still reproduce symptoms such as problems that carry their work spaces. Our work is still ongoing to restore the backend services affected to the return functionality to the impacted characteristics.”
And Slack has apologized for the in progress:
“There is no additional news to share yet, but we are focused on making things return to normal as quickly as we can. We apologize for the continuous problems.”
My boss, Marc McLaren, has returned to Slack’s desktop version. I’m still caught in limbo …
There is still no joy on the desk log in for me in Slack. Sigh.
Another Slack update:
“We are still investigating the cause of the problem and working on the restoration of functionality to the affected characteristics such as workflows, sending of messages, threads and functions related to the API. Users can also continue experiencing problems when trying to log in. We will provide new information as soon as available.”
I am not the only one without lazy desktop access, since my colleague Mackenzie Frazier is also on the same boat, and I think some others too. But with a little suffocated communication it is difficult to say.
Another update of the Slack status page, and reads the same as before:
“We are still actively investigating this problem, but we have no new information to share at this time. Thank you for continuing with us while we continue working for a solution. We will keep it informed as soon as we have an update.”
This is all that I am seeing when I try to log in to Slack. Get irritating now.
There is still no desktop Slack login for me. I’m quite sure I’m not doing anything strange on my part …
According to Downdector, there were also interruptions at Amazon Web Services, Instagram Microsoft Copilot, among others. Now it is not clear if these are related, but many services use AWS for their cloud platform, so if that fell could be the crux of these interruptions.
Going through the Slack state page, it still does not seem that everything has been resolved:
“We are still working to restore functionality to the affected slabs characteristics, such as sending messages, workflows, threads and other characteristics related to the API. We will return with more updates as soon as they are available.”
My colleagues report that they have access to Slack on the desktop on both Windows and Macos.
But I had to restart my Macbook and Slack I registered completely and seems to be struggling to authenticate through my Google Workpaces account. Numbly frustrating, I have to say.
However, emoji reactions to messages do not seem to be working. Just a crucial Slack part, but an indication that things could be a bit buggy for a little as Slack returns to speed.
There is no official word on the Slack status page that goes back up. But it seems that we are reaching the end of this interruption. Although those could be famous last words, so to speak.
But my Slack mobile version is fine now.
According to Desire and Josie, Slack has returned for both of us … I am not so lucky.
However, the desktop application and the Slack browser version are still throwing the messages ‘loading their work space’ for me.
Oh, hold on a minute … both companions managing editors Josie Watson and I have been able to send messages in the Slack application, so this can be the interruption signal.
So I can still see my Slack messages in the mobile application on my iPhone 16 Pro Max, but I can’t send new ones as you could expect with the interruption still in force. Even so, that is useful to verify the state of work as a snapshot before the interruption arrives.
From what is worth, I am a fan of the Slack application in iOS. It is close, it works well and feels decently integrated with Apple’s mobile platform.
Another Slack post:
“Our research is still in progress with respect to the functionality deactivated for Slack characteristics, such as workflows, threads, shipping messages and functions related to the API. We will return with more updates as soon as they are available.”
It seems that Slack interruption reports in Downetector have reached their maximum point. So, or people have accepted that Slack is out or the service is on the road to recovery and could be awake soon … we’ll see.
Here is the last Slack update:
“We continue our efforts to restore functionality to the affected characteristics such as workflows, sending of messages, threads and characteristics related to API. Users may also experience problems when trying to log in. We appreciate their continuous patience. More updates will be shared as soon as possible.”
And something else for desire:
A rather regular fact
In the last four years, Slack has had at least a great interruption every year. We had one in January 2021one in February 2022, March 2022 and July 2022 And the last one was in July 2023.
Therefore, the popular business communication platform is not immune to the times of inactivity and the fact that it continues to happen is worrying about saying the least.
Do I wonder how fast I will tire of seeing the image below? Slack is still stunned.
Thanks to the cloud -based software magic, I have some ideas of Desire Athow, managing editor of Techradar Pro, in the game state with Slack and what the interruption for companies means.
“This is how we are facing. Slack is a single point of failure for an entire organization, when it was reduced a few minutes ago, my first thought was, what do we have as an alternative?” He writes.
“Slack is where all real -time communication occurs in tens of thousands of companies, including. At the time of writing, Detecctor It has thousands of cases of interruption in the last three hours and increasing. “
I cannot say if I feel quite a lot for the lack of notifications of loose notification, or if I feel quite isolated; The latter probably depends on me also listening to an atmospheric science fiction band while writing.
On its service status, Slack has published the following:
“We are still working to restore functionality to the affected Slack characteristics, such as sending messages, workflows, threads and other features related to the API. Users may also experience problems when trying to log in. Thank you for your continuous patience as we continue to investigate. We will continue with more updates as they are available.”
So we return to an old school communication in the form of an email and collaboration in Google Docs. It is not bad, since Google G suite is a set of tools quite robust. Likewise, this is not exactly optimal.
Usually, when interruptions occur, they do not always affect us directly in Techradar. But we all use Slack to collaborate remotely and in multiple countries and continents.
So this is an interruption that I really feel directly; I cannot quickly communicate with my colleagues in the United States, which is a pain when there is an important Amazon product event.
I just received an email from Future Publishing (the company that has PakGazette) of Ti department that Slack is in all areas.
Ok, now I just told me that his slack is down. So, this is not good for remote collaboration.
But this interruption does not seem to affect everyone, since my boss Marc McLaren reports that his slack is still working … how strange.
Yes, so Slack is definitely fallen and I am blinding without easy contact with my colleagues.
