- Slimbook Evo laptops combine thin designs with surprisingly heavy specifications
- Ryzen AI 9 365 gathers the acceleration of CPU and NPU
- High update frequency screens suggest softer performance in editing editing flows
Slimbook has launched new versions of its Evo 14 and Evo 15 laptops driven by the Ryzen AI 9 365 processor of AMD.
The chip includes a CPU of 10 cores and 20 threads, integrated graphics Radeon 880m and one AI NPU Ryzen 50Tops.
Both laptops aim to combine thin and light designs with high -end hardware while sending with pre -installed Linux.
Visualization and design considerations
The Evo 14 comes with a 14 -inch IPS LCD that offers a resolution of 2880 x 1800, an update speed of 120 Hz and brightness of up to 500 nits.
It measures 16.9 mm thick, weighs 1.4 kg and includes an 80h battery in an aluminum chassis.
The Evo 15 is larger than 15.3 inches with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 and 400 nutes of maximum brightness.
It has a numerical keyboard, a 99Wh battery, and weighs 1.6 kg at 18.1 mm thick.
While both models are thin and laptops, real world performance under demanding workloads will determine whether they can compete with the best laptops in their class.
The port selection includes USB4 with the load of 1.4 and 100W, USB 3.2 Type-C and Type-A, HDMI 2.1, Ethernet and an SDXC card reader.
Both models come with double cooling fans, 1080p IR web cameras, stereo speakers and white backlight keyboards.
The settings scale up to 128 GB of memory DDR5-5600 and 16 TB of PCIE 4.0 NVME in two M.2 slots.
The base model includes 16 GB of RAM (two Sodimm of 8 GB) and a 500 GB SSD, with options to expand up to 128 GB of memory and 8 TB of storage, although the highest settings increase the price.
A key feature is that laptops are sent with Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora and Manjaro preinstalled, while Windows installation is also available for an additional license.
This gives buyers an immediate path to the best Linux distributions without additional configuration.
These laptops also include a Wi -Fi 6 card, with Wi -Fi 7 offered as an update, although Slimbook points out that currently it currently works only in a basic capacity in Linux, indicating possible controller limitations.
The initial price of Slimbook Evo 14 and Evo 15 is € 1077 ($ 1,265).
