Islamabad:
Information technology experts (IT) in an official board have declared smart watches, physical conditioning trackers and other portable smart devices such as a threat of cyber security and have recommended that the Government prohibit such articles in sensitive places.
The National Telecommunications Technology and Information Technology Board has sent a notice to the Cabinet Division, warning that portable smart devices are a safety risk, since these devices have been used to reveal confidential information.
The use of these devices in confidential places can lead to cyber attacks, data leaks and monitoring, according to the notice.
