- Wi-Fi problems are reported on new iPhones
- Unlock the phones sometimes disconnect the wi-fi
- A future software update can solve the problem
With the new iPhone 17 models arriving at the first customers in line this week, we are beginning to see reports of a small amount of errors and problems with flagship phones, including irregular Wi-Fi connectivity.
As seen by the Macrumors team, there are numerous complaints in Reddit, Macrumors forums and Apple forums admit a problem in which Wi-Fi disconnects and connects again after the iPhone is unlocked.
That can lead to numerous other problems, even with the maintenance connected to a carplay grid board. In some cases there seems to be a link with an Apple Watch that is connected and unlocked, but it is not clear if that is always a factor that contributes.
It is also difficult to evaluate how extended the problem is, although there are certainly many complaints about the problem. The four new models, the iPhone 17, the iPhone Air, the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max, seem to be affected to some extent.
Potential solutions
Apple has not made any official comment about the problem so far, we have communicated and update this article if we receive news, but some users report that they have been able to find solutions and arrangements.
The owner of an affected iPhone could prevent the error from disconnecting the phone of his homepod, while others have discovered that keeping their blocked Apple Watch also prevents the iPhone Wi-Fi from being disconnected.
It is worth noting that the recently presented iPhones come with a new Wi-Fi and communications chip, the N1, so it is possible that this chip has some early dentition problems that could be fixed with a future software update.
In fact, in one of the threads that report the error, a user informs that the problem has stopped happening since he installed the beta iOS 26.1 recently published, so if he is seeing this error, it can be a case of patiently waiting for an iOS update patiently.
