Recently we have seen the Sony Wh-000xm6 flagship headphones on the ear thrown, but what about the equivalents of wireless headphones? Well, a new leak suggests that the Sony WF-000xm6 has not become official either.
According to Walkman’s blog (through Notebookcck), the import documentation mentioned by the Sony WF-1000xm6 headphones has emerged by name, describing them, strangely, as “headphones without a frame.”
We do not have too much detail here, but there is a reference to the load case in the documentation, and we obtain the dimensions of the headphones: it seems that the new pair will be a little smaller in general than the Sony WF-1000xm5.
The dimensions listed in the escape are 84 mm x 70 mm x 55 mm for the Sony WF-1000xm6, which are compared to 99 mm x 66.4 mm x 53 mm for the Sony WF-1000xm5, but we do not get any indication of a redesign here.
Is it the right price?
Our list of what we want to see from the Sony WF-000xm6 headphones mentions a better noise cancellation, better connectivity, better battery life, an updated IP rating, more color options and (of course) a cheaper price.
Go to our Sony WF-000xm5 review and you will see those headphones launched at an initial price of $ 299.99 / £ 259 / AU $ 499. However, that was in July 2023, and the technology industry and the world in general have changed quite substantially since then.
It does not seem to be another July launch by 2025, but according to the manufacturing stages mentioned in these import presentations, the headphones should break the coverage in the coming months, so probably before the end of the year.
Every time the Sony WF-000xm6 appears, they will face a tough competition in what is one of the most full of technology categories. We are still waiting for the Airpods Pro 3, for example, but they may not appear until next year.
