According to the Japanese labor transformation technology Ricoh, Spain leads the productivity wave in Europe, with 92% of Spanish employees who report high productivity.
As a result, the GDP of the country grew 3.2% last year, which reflects a strong economic impulse, compared to the United Kingdom, which only saw a 0.9% GDP growth.
Poor growth is linked to the productivity of the nation, with the United Kingdom and Ireland occupying the sixth place among the six countries compared to Ricoh’s analysis.
Productivity in the United Kingdom is left behind from other European nations
The report reveals how the employees of the United Kingdom and I have more than double the chances of being considered unproductive compared to their Spanish counterparts.
Only one in four (28%) employees of the United Kingdom and I feel they have the right tools for perfect collaboration, the lowest among the countries surveyed. Ricoh linked the productivity gaps with the availability (or lack) of modern technologies in the workplace, with 40% of European workers in accordance with a better document management software could only improve their productivity.
Ricoh Europe’s director and commercial director, Caroline Bright, commented: “Our research shows that equipping employees with adequate technology is essential to unlock their maximum potential and boost productivity.”
Communication and collaboration tools (37%) and automation software (36%) also stood out as key areas where companies could invest more.
In France and Germany, which were placed slightly ahead of the United Kingdom and Ireland, but behind Spain, Italy and the Netherlands, business leaders pointed out that outdated technology is the largest barrier to employee technology.
“As the dynamics of the workplace evolve and companies renew their focus on the office, it is more important than ever providing employees with the tools they need to operate and collaborate effectively,” Bright added.
Bright continued to explain that companies will now act to modernize their technology in the workplace will be in the best position to close the productivity gap in the future.
