He took 11 games, but the field marshal of the New Orleans Saints, Spencer Rattler, finally won his first victory in his NFL career.

Rattler had been in several closed games with the Saints, but he had not been able to go out with that winning feeling, until the New York giants arrived at Césares Superdome on Sunday. The giants were just outside their first victory of the season and the first of the young Jaxson Dart race in week 4.

Rattler, however, did not let the impulse of New York last a lot, which led the Saints to a 26-14 victory that saw the defense play an important role in the effort.

Rattler was 20 of 30 for 225 yards, including a TouchDown pass of 87 yards to the open receptor Rasheed Shaheed that took the Saints to the game after the giants opened with two TouchDown units limited by the passes to the closed wing Theo Johnson.

Shaheed’s Touchdown reduced the advantage of the giants to 14-13, but after New Orleans’ kicking Blake Grupe lost a field goal, it seemed that the impulse could return to the giants. That changed when Dart’s Pass to Darius Slayton resulted in a loose ball when New York crossed the territory of the saints.

After the Saints recovered the loose ball, Grupe turned a field goal to finish half, and New Orleans never looked back.

The second half was a nightmare for the giant offensive, since four consecutive units ended in ball losses. He started with Dart simply dropping football for a loose ball. On the next way, the Cam Skattebo corridor also lost, and Jordan Howden returned it for a touchdown to push the advantage of the Saints to 26-14.

Dart launched a couple of interceptions while trying to gather the giants, but their efforts only led to more frustration.

While Rattler finally won his first victory, Chief coach Kelllen Moore also won his first victory in his career in his new role. Both teams now have 1-4 for five weeks.

Shaheed led the Saints with 114 yards in just four trapped, while Chris Olave added seven receptions for 59 yards.
