ISLAMABAD:
Following continuous rains, the water level in Rawal dam rose sharply on Tuesday, prompting the district administration to open its spillways to maintain safe discharge levels.
According to the district administration, the recent rains caused a significant rise in the water level of the dam, which reached 1,752 feet. In response, authorities opened the spillways to regulate the flow and prevent risks of overflow.
An administration spokesperson said water release would continue within prescribed limits to ensure a controlled release from the reservoir.
