Speculation of launch dates
Although the pilot is currently in the early stages of production and a new lead slayer has been launched, an exact launch date has not yet been determined. According to IMDB, it is announced that it will be published next year, but again, an official announcement has not yet been made, so we would not rule out 2027.
The predicted cast
In addition to entering the place of the executive producer, Sarah Michelle Gellar will also repeat his role as Buffy Summers. However, this time, Buffy will not be in the center of the restart. Instead, Buffy will be a recurring character and a new Slayer will be the focus, and have found it.

Plot rumors
Similar to its release date, we are not exactly sure which direction the program will take in terms of the plot, however, the restart has been described as ‘The next chapter in the Buffyverse,’ says Deadline. In addition, Sarah Michelle Gellar also revealed to Vanity Fair that the restart “will be lighter than the last seasons of the original,” and added “we will try to find a balance between the new and old characters.”
Even so, it does not reveal much about which direction the restart will go on the plot. That said, TV Line shared details about a possible scheme of the plot, which we are taking with a pinch of salt for now.
According to the exit, the new Slayer will bow more in Willow’s characteristics, Buffy’s shy but intellectual partner with a gift for witchcraft instead of the combat personality, Buffy style. TV Line also said that the new Slayer could be called Nova, although he admits that this could be a position marker name until more details are revealed.
Another speculation is around Slayer’s new group of friends, which TV Line says that it could replicate a similar to the ‘gang scoo’ of the original series consisting of Buffy, Xander, Willow, Buffy’s Watcher Giles and other recurring characters that depend on the season. The television line states that the new ‘Scobies’ will be ‘Hugo, a nerd and borrowed that comes from money, and Gracie, a young vampire expert who is a gellar’s acolyte’s buffy’.
Alternatively, there is another address that the plot could take.
