I have been a loyal Spotify subscriber for most than 10 years, and there are many reasons why I have stayed (my daytime list is the first thing that comes to mind). However, despite this, there are several disadvantages for one of the best music transmission services: its Smart Shuffle function is one. But now there is a new way to disable this characteristic completely annoyed.
Spotify introduced Smart Shuffle in 2023, a feature that weaves the recommendations of songs among their personalized reproduction lists, and did not sit well with music fans, so to speak, to say at least. Fortunately, he no longer has to endure his discomfort, since users have seen a new way of disabled.
Reddit’s Eagle Eye Users caught attention to the new alternation ‘enable all game modes’ in the Spotify application configuration that was added in silence. When this configuration is enabled, you can examine the linear, shuffled and intelligent options to listen to your reproduction lists. Disable Smart Shuffle extinguish it for all its reproduction lists.
Now you can eliminate Smart Shuffle! of R/Truespotify
This new configuration appears differently for some users (see below) but has exactly the same functionality. Until now, it seems that it is gradually implemented worldwide, I have already taken advantage of it, so it may not yet be visible to all Spotify users.

Goodbye Smart Shuffle, we never need you anyway
Although it was designed to ‘breathe new life’ in its auditory experience and offer a new personal music discovery alternative, a large part of Spotify subscribers never heated in the function as a whole, complaining that its rotation of song suggestions lack variety and does not meet its daily renewal promises. In addition to that, Smart Shuffle annoyed the standard Shuffle function.
When Spotify took Smart Shuffle for the first time, I ventured it mainly as a means to find similar songs to complete my specific reproduction lists, an alternative way to use the list of ‘recommended songs at the bottom of each playlist. At first, it was useful, but the novelty was exhausted quite fast.
For a characteristic that uses your musical habits, as well as the knowledge of Spotify music experts to offer new song suggestions, it is not the most dynamic musical discovery function and lacks reach. There are much better characteristics for the discovery of music: I am on the newly generated New Music friday play list that is generated weekly, and I will reiterate my soft point for Spotify diurnal lists. So, for now, it is time to disable smart shuffle until Spotify can find a better solution.
