Karachi: The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has published its supply schedule for EID Ul Fitr, ensuring Karachi residents about the availability of total gas pressure during the festive occasion.
SSGC spokesman said that all gas valves would turn on with a total pressure supply for EID.
The gas will be available during the three days of EID until midnight. “A similar schedule for Chand Raat will be followed, the eve of EID, with the gas supply continuing until midnight,” added the official.
The spokesman also advised residents to contact the SSGC help line in 1199 in case of any gas supply complaint.
The use of gas, in a public announcement ahead of Ramadan, also assured people the supply of uninterrupted gas for the preparation of Sehri and IFTAR.
The SSGC had announced that the gas would be available between 3 am and 9 AM for Sehri (food prior to dawn) and 3:30 pm and 10 pm for IFTar food during the Holy Month of the fast.
Pakistan will probably observe the first day of Eid Ul Fit on Monday (tomorrow) since a large number of countries, including Saudi Arabia, are watching Eid today.
According to astronomical models, Shawwal’s moon will be visible on March 30 (today), indicating that Eid Ul Fitr will probably fall into Pakistan on March 31.
The Central Committee of Ruet-E-Hilal, the Federal Lunas Surveillance Agency, together with the Zonal Committees, will meet today (Domingo 29 of Ramadan, 1446 AH), to see the Shawwal moon, marking the potential end of the Sacred Month of Ramadan.
