Standing passion forbidden in Karachi as part of Muharram’s security measures

Karachi: The Government of Sindh has imposed the prohibition of the conduct of quantity as part of the measures taken to provide security to Muharram’s processions and activities in the metropolis.

Muharram is one of the four months sacred in Islam. His tenth day, known as Ashura, marks the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), the grandson of the prophet Muhammad (Pbuh), along with the members of his family in the battle of Karbala.

Throughout the country, the faithful have processions and Majalis during Muharram. Religious scholars deliver sermons to large meetings, held under tense security.

In Karachi, more than 5,000 police personnel for the central procession have been deployed, together with 1,000 personnel who maintain the traffic flow, the government has also suspended cell service along the procession route, which has begun from Nishtar Park.

In addition to the snipers deployed in high -rise buildings, together with the procession routes that are reviewed through Sniffer Dogs, the authorities also perform monitoring through closed circuit television cameras (CCTV).

Ma Jinnah Road has also been closed for traffic and markets and stores in the markets of Ma Jinnah Road, Saddar, Empress, Regal and Lighthouse have been sealed, and the streets that are linked to the procession routes have been blocked through containers.

Only vehicles with procession decals can continue and apply similar to vehicles that come from Sharea Quaideen, since they cannot go beyond the signal of the Khadoad neighborhood.

In addition, traffic from Nazimabad is deviating from Lasbela Chowk to Nishtar Road and Garden.

While vehicles that come from the super highway deviate from liaquatabad no 10 to Nazimabad Chowrangi no 2.

People traveling from Liaquatabad are being directed towards Teen Hatti, Martin Road and Jail Road.

According to the Karachi Traffic Police diversion plan issued on Friday, travelers traveling from Hassan Square to PP Chowrangi can take back it is under the elevated passage of jail, then go to the Light Signal Society (Shahrah-E-Qaideen), or use the high passage of the jail to reach Teen Hatti and Nishtar Road through Lasbela Chowk.
