Game 1 of the final of the West Conference of the Stanley Cup playoffs between the Dallas Stars and the Edmonton Oilers began with high intensity and closed in the same way on Wednesday night.
An avalanche of power goals from the players of the stars Mike Heiskanen, Mikael Granlund and Matt Duchene in the third period took Dallas to a 6-3 victory. The stars, at one time, followed the Oilers for two goals before leaving all the way back for unlikely victory.

When the horn sounded, several stars players and the oilers mixed it on central ice. The transmission caught Edmonton’s defense, Corey Perry, chasing the rookie of the stars Lian Bischel. Perry seemed to make fun of the player after the officials broke the scrum.
Dallas left the ice with a 1-0 advantage in the Edmonton series.
The chief coach of the stars, Pete should, was happy with the way the team was able to take advantage of the power game. Dallas had been 0 by 14 in six playoff games against the oilers.
“I did not feel for 40 minutes that we had done (the Oilers) won the position in which they were. So the boys answered. We were lucky. We have some power goals,” I said. “Happy for our power game. He was very hot last year at this point of the year. It was the difference tonight for us, so it’s great.”

Dallas became the second team since 1934 to have three goals of power in the first six minutes of a period of playoffs. The New York Rangers did it in game 1 of the East Conference final against the Montreal Canadiens in 2014.
“The first power game we had was a bit like the rest of our game. Our execution was a bit off, we did not make great plays with the album, we did not have great support,” I said. “I thought about the third, we left and executed. I think you never know when that change is going to go.
“Obviously, being at home here for this game, we get that first goal, the crowd gets into it, the impulse changes very fast. That is the benefit of being at home here for the game 1.”
