The gardener All-Star Juan Soto spent the 2024 season at Bronx and was a key part of the World Series last year. In December, he signed a historical contract with the other New York MLB team: the METS.
Soto’s reported a 15 -year agreement and $ 765 million represents the most lucrative contract in the history of professional sport. On Friday, the METS will open a series of three games with the Yankees. The last edition of the Subway series will also mark Soto the first time competing in the Yankee Stadium since he hung his stripes.

While Soto acknowledged the possibility that some fans could lead to the boos, it does not seem that potential anguish is cushioning the toleter’s emotion for returning to Yankee Stadium.

“I don’t care,” Soto told Atlético in reference to the possible Jeers.
Before the beginning of the regular season 2025, Soto admitted that he was “waiting for the worst” of the Yankees faithful when he finally visited the Bronx.

The Mets launcher, Clay Holmes, who played for the Yankees of 2021-24, expressed his confidence in Soto’s ability to play well no matter what ultimately facing fans in the Bronx.

“His approach will be to put good turns to bat,” said Holmes. “You can always block it in those great moments. It will be fun to see it.”
Soto finished his only season with the Yankees with 41 homers and an average batting of .288. The right gardener has hit eight homers in 43 games so far this season with the Mets.
The Mets were inactive on Thursday, but they will enter the Friday match against the Yankees first in the Eastern National League.
