- Micro Center suddenly has a lot of stock of an Astx rtx 5090 gpu
- However, this card is stupidly expensive with 85% of MSRP, so, instead of improving the supply, it is likely to be more a reflection of that sale price.
- That said, there is some hope that the supply of RTX 5080 is improving a bit, so we can keep our fingers crossed there.
A ASUS version of the NVIDIA RTX 5090 GPU has been seen stacked on the shelves of an important American retailer, which could make him think that perhaps the drought of actions for the flagship is over, but I doubt that this is the case.
However, it is a novelty to see a pile of Blackwell graphics cards on the shelves, and there are also some more positive suggestions about the RTX 5080 stock, which I will return later. All of which is being courtesy of a Reddit publication that shared a photo of a micro center of brick and mortar in Dallas (see below) that Videocardz marked.
Microcentr Dallas obtained tons of 5090 Astral Liquid’s in today from R/NVIDIA
Of course, this is not likely that a sudden supply case increases, or Nvidia production lines revolve for the Blackwell badge, rather, a lack of demand is (surely) a lack of demand, due to the exorbitant price label set in the Board Asus RTX 5090 in question.
This is the ASUS ROG Astral LC RTX 5090 OC edition, which is the high-end offer of the manufacturer of graphics cards: the LC refers to liquid cooling, and OC indicates that it is Overclockeed, but the price is still astronomical (or astral-nomical, perhaps, ahem) to $ 3,719.
That is 85% more expensive than the MSRP (elevated) established by NVIDIA, and is almost 10% more expensive than the sale price of ASUS in its own online store for this particular astral model, and that is already scandalously high as it is.
Yes, it is a personalized high -end board, and yes, there will always be a cousin to pay in that case, for the improvements in the card and the cooling that (hopefully) will help you obtain an overclock of better better better, but the difference will not be so much versus an RTX 5090 of entry level, with all probability.
And be forced to pay almost double for that? Well, even PC games enthusiasts will not, which is (no doubt) why all these RTX 5090 models are sitting on the shelves, and will probably continue to be for some time, until micro center adjusts their prices.
That, of course, will eventually happen when the cry for the RTX 5000 graphics cards begin to calm down, and the demand does not exceed the supply of such an immense factor.
Analysis: A ray of hope, but not for RTX 5090
Well, then there is any possibility at all That the sudden appearance of a decent number of these Blackwell Blackwell flags is a hopeful indication to improve stock levels? After all, it was rumored that happened for the RTX 5090 towards the end of March, where we are now. I cannot see it, frankly, whatever is happening in that micro center store, if we observe the main online retailers in the US, the RTX 5090 actions remain non -existent. For now, the flagship can only be obtained in local stores.
However, the Reddit poster also points out that there are GPU RTX 5080 in abundant stock in that micro center, although we do not see them or at what price they are. However, I suppose there will be no MSRP level boards, but here there is a ray of hope at the time when writing, there are a couple of RTX 5080 models in stock to order online on Newgg.
As expected, they are not close to MSRP, so this is not yet a cause of a true celebration: the cheapest model (of three boards current that when I check it.
I wouldn’t let me carry this notion, but perhaps we are beginning to convert a corner (mild) here, although clearly not with the RTX 5090 stock, with really ridiculous prices inflation still, carving a lot on the Blackwell flagship.
