The passage of the torch only occurs sometimes in Pro Wrestling and Cody Rhodes and John Cena added another chapter to the WWE tradition in Summerslam on Sunday night.
Rhodes defeated Cena to recover the indisputable WWE championship in an epic street fight that ended an incredible weekend at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. He marked the second reign of the title for Rhodes after he won the championship in Wrestlemania 40.
Dinner went out to his classic song “My time is now” in an apparent complete circle back to his roads in Babyface. The crowd in the Metlife stadium exploded, even Rhodes smiled.

But the jokes soon left.
It was a street fight for the WWE undisputed championship on a night that already presented a ton of violence. But there were many questions for both competitors to the party. Could Rhodes gather a murderous instinct to keep dinner? Was Cena really to deepen his soul to meet and become Superman for the last time?
Rhodes brought Tyrese Haliburton’s crutch to the back. He walked to dinner on the steel steps, but then he also ate these same steps. It was early in the game, but the two showed that they were going to do everything possible to capture the greatest prize in the WWE.
Dinner hit the attitude adjustment first. He tried to fix Rhodes but was in vain. It was too early to leave the “American nightmare.” Rhodes had already tried to close his minor movements to dinner, but Cena was ready and was not hit enough.
Almost frustrated and too much inside his head, Rhodes hit a disaster kick and a Cody cutter. Even so, Pin attempts were not going to work in the 17 -time world champion.
Rhodes then achieved a movement that was technically prohibited: the Piledriver. Dinner would not go down and played a little Zarigüeya to stun Rhodes with an attitude adjustment shortly after. Both fighters were deeply in their bag.

The fight moved to the outside of the ring and dinner was in the hunt. He hit Rhodes with a microphone and then a red code. He cleaned the Spanish advertisements and supported Rhodes on his shoulders while standing on the table of Michael Cole and Wade Barrett. Then he hit Rhodes with the attitude adjustment through the Spanish ads table.

Dinner shot Rhodes again in the ring and tried to fix it. Even so, Rhodes would not go down.
One more air of air and Rhodes was able to counteract dinner and hit a Rhodes cross shortly after the attempt of dinner pin. Rhodes then covered Cena but could not get the count of the three.
The frustrations hurt both men. They took the fight to the crowd, far from the ring they needed to complete the victory. Dinner and Rhodes fought around the stadium and returned to the ramp. Dinner had Rhodes on his shoulders when the two went up to the elevator Rhodes used for his entrance.
Dinner then hit another attitude adjustment. Even so, he had to return Rhodes to the ring. Dinner took him back to the ring, but Rhodes used the time to obtain a more adrenaline explosion. When they returned to the ring, Rhodes threw Cena through the table.
Rhodes loosen the rope and took everything out of his hinges. The lower rope was low and Rhodes used the entire tensioner for its advantage. But Cena, always the veteran, stumbled upon Rhodes and drowned Rhodes with the rope. The challenger turned the tables on dinner once again.
The fight that was launched.
Rhodes had dinner in a situation. He hit not one but three rhodes crossed at dinner. He thought he had finished dinner. It was for the pin, but only reached two.
Rhodes then had his impressive kick. Cena reversed Rhodes attempt to hit him with the title of the title. Dinner nailed two attitude adjustments and then a third of the middle rope. Even so, Cena met his party. Rhodes came out at two.

In the final moments, Rhodes put dinner at a table. After Cena lay hanging from the strings, he greeted dinner and hit the rhods.
One, two, three, Rhodes collected the victory.
Cena stopped at the center of the ring, noting that his time was almost up. WWE fans thanked Cena for presenting another epic exhibition of professional struggle.
