You never know what will be asked during the Super Bowl media availability, but New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye doesn’t mind a little qualifying question about his wife, Ann Michael’s, baking.
Maye, who helped lead the Patriots to the “Big Game” in Santa Clara this week in just his second NFL season, was asked to rank four of his wife’s recipes that have been talked about all season. Ann Michael shares her recipes on TikTok, some of which go viral during what she called “Bakemas” for the holiday season.
The Patriots’ interlocutor already knew what his best option would be in the kitchen.

“Cinnamon roll snickerdoodle, she just made them for the O line this week,” Maye said with a smile. “That’s my number one.”
After that, he had to think about it for a bit.
“Puppy food, I’ll put puppy food number 3. Pistachio bread, I think it’s good. I’m not a fan, [so] I’ll put it at four. The imitation crumble sugar cookie? Yes, put it at number 2.”

With nerves and anticipation high for all the Patriots and Seattle Seahawks entering this week, questions like these might ease things.
And for the Patriots, it’s always nice to have some freshly baked goods as a treat before the Super Bowl. Remember how Donna Kelce brought her sons, Jason and Travis Kelce, some homemade cookies before they faced off in the Super Bowl a few years ago?

Maye has spoken out on Ann Michael’s TikTok in the past, calling her a “superstar” with over 200,000 followers.
“(She’s) on her little trip making ‘Bakemas’ right now. I do the good part of trying all of her baking. I try to bring some leftovers into the building,” Maye told “WEEI Afternoons.”
“She’s been a great addition to me being here and living with me.”
Maye loves talking about his wife’s baking, but knows she’s still on a business trip to the West Coast this week. The Patriots have enjoyed a quick turnaround under new head coach Mike Vrabel, winning the AFC East and three playoff games en route to the Super Bowl.
Maye, however, hasn’t been as consistent as ever on the field, something we saw all season on his path to becoming an MVP candidate. He hasn’t completed more than 59% of his passes in any of his three games, although he has thrown four touchdowns and two interceptions.

Against the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game, Maye threw for just 86 yards, although snowy weather played a major factor in that.
With perfect weather expected in the Bay Area on Sunday night, Maye should have the right conditions to remount and try his luck against the Seahawks’ top-rated defense this season.
