Suspect in French encryption kidnappings arrested in Morocco

A suspect supposedly behind the recent high -profile cryptographic kidnappings in France has been arrested in Morocco, according to Magreb Arab Press, a press agency managed by the Government.

At the request of the French authorities, a joint operation of the Brigade of the National Judicial Police of Morocco (BNPJ) and the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) led the 24 -year -old suspect from Moroccan, according to a statement from the Moroccan police distributed by MAP. The press agency described the man, which was identified by the French press as Badiss Mohamed Amide Bajjou, as an intellectual author of the crimes.

“I sincerely appreciate Morocco for this arrest, which demonstrates the excellent judicial cooperation between our two countries, particularly against organized crime,” said French Justice Minister Géranin, Darmanin in a statement translated into the site of social networks X.

Interpol said Ba Baju was sought by organized extortion, kidnapping and violence, according to a so -called “red notice” published for man.

The French authorities have already charged more than two dozen people, including six minors, in the cryptographic kidnapping series in Paris, most of them linked to the failed kidnapping attempt on May 13 of the family of Pierre Noizat, the CEO of Exchange Paymium.

Also in May, the father of a French cryptographic millionaire was kidnapped in a case that was similar to the previous seizure of David Ballard, co -founder of the Ledger cryptographic developer and his wife. The kidnappers cut a finger of each of the men.

After those recent cases, the Interior Minister of France, Bruno Retailleau, organized a meeting with people involved in cryptography to discuss measures to keep them safe.
