Minneapolis: The governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, said that a 57 -year -old suspect was arrested Sunday for the murder of a state -owned Democratic legislator and her husband while passing through a police officer.
The arrest was the culmination of a great human hunt after the death of Melissa Hortman, the best Democrat in the Chamber of Minnesota, and her husband, Mark, the previous day, which Walz characterized as a “politically motivated murder.”
The authorities said that the suspicious arrested, Vance Luther Boelter, also allegedly shot and wounded another Democratic legislator, state senator John Hoffman, and his wife, Yvette, in his house a few miles away.
Walz said Hoffman, beaten by nine bullets, was heading to recovery after emerging from his last surgery.
Boelter has links to evangelical ministries and claimed Reuters.
Boelter was accused of two second -degree murder positions and two positions of second degree murder attempt, showed a criminal complaint of the Hennepin County.
Three of these charges are punished with the terms of the prison of up to 40 years, according to the complaint revealed on Sunday.
When the police recorded the Boelter SUV after the shootings, they discovered three AK-47 assault rifles, a 9 mm gun and a list of other public officials, including its directions, the complaint showed.
The murder was the last episode of high -profile American political violence.
Such incidents range from a 2022 attack to the husband of the former Democratic president of the United States Chamber, Nancy Pelosi, at home, to a murder offer by Donald Trump last year, and a fire attack in the house of the governor of Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro, in April.
