A man accused of killing Aisha Habiba, 22, on his wedding day, was arrested in Lahore’s area, police said Friday.

The suspect, identified as Ikram, was brother -in -law of the victim and allegedly killed her for a dispute with respect to marriage agreements, according to Dig Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza, said Express News.

The incident occurred earlier this week and sent shock waves through the local community.

Dig Raza realized the murder and ordered the formation of a special police team under the Sp Sadar Moazam Ali investigation.

Inspector Pasha Imran, leading the investigation unit at the Latch Police Station, carried out the arrest operation with her team.

The suspect had fled the scene after filming, but was tracked using modern surveillance technologies and human intelligence.

“Strong evidence has been collected and a solid charges will be presented to ensure that the suspect receives the appropriate punishment,” said Dig Raza in a statement.

He reaffirmed that the breaking would be firmly and praised the rapid and coordinated efforts of the research team.
